Writers Kingston event #55 : Poem Brut October Tuesday 18th 2022
at Kingston University Town House
Nearly 20 poets descend on Kingston University for an explorative, playful, experimental evening of new live works from literary artists from across the UK. Poem Brut has been pioneering live literature sensitive to the hand-made and neurologically diverse since 2017 and this one night fest should be a memorable instalment in its history as a project
New solo performances in the Poem Brut tradition by Julia Rose Lewis, Safia Kamel and a reading by Daniel Guebel, Ana Guebel and Jessica Sequeira.
Plus new collaborative performances by Fiona Larkin, Nic Stringer and Michelle Penn
as well as Nick Roth and SJ Fowler / Simon Tyrrell and Victoria Kaye / Bob T Bright and Patrick Cosgrove.
Also the launch of Disease : a poetry anthology edited by Ana Seferovic, Virna Teixera and Rushika Wick, with readings by Dani Salvadori, Golnoosh Nour and Stuart McKenzie
And finally the launch of Cosmologorrhea by Richard Biddle & James Knight from Steel Incisors Press.
Going since 2017, Poem Brut is an exploration of artistic creative writing - poetry and colour, handwriting, composition, abstraction, scribbling, illustration - a project that aims to engage and energise poets, writers, artists, readers and listeners. And for live events, it is a chance for writers to expand what is possible, or instinctual, in time and space, playing with concepts, sound and motion. www.poembrut.com
